I had been chosen b y my best friend Nick to be the best man for his wedding, which was obviously an honour, but I was a lot more interested in organising the stag do! As soon as he told me that he wanted me to be best man, I thanked him, made my excuses, and went to talk to all of our other friends. It was a source of great amusement that we had all been given this opportunity! Nick was the biggest practical joker any of us knew, and this was our chance to get our own back!
I decided that we should really make something of the stag do, and after looking at a few stag reviews, I decided that we should all go over to Budapest for the do. It was a great city and the night life there is meant to be pretty wild. I looked online and I found that flights to Budapest were pretty cheap. I had a quick chat with my mates and we all agreed that this was a great idea so we booked all seven of the tickets.
When the time came to leave,. We didn’t tell Nick where we were going – we just took him out in town and got him as drunk as we possibly could. Once he passed out we bundled him into a car and got ourselves to the airport. He didn’t wake up until we woke him up, telling him that our plane left in five minutes! He was so confused and delirious, he just didn’t know what was going on, but you could tell he was thrilled. This perfectly set the tone for the next three days of madness!

This year the planning of the family holiday has been left to me. It’s normally my wife who chooses where to go on holiday each year but this year she is so tied up with things to do with the kids that I have had to take some of the load. I find things like this particularly difficult, but I was determined to find somewhere that had something for everyone.
Normally my wife would head into town and pick up a load of holiday brochures from the local travel agent, but I had seen so many great deals online for holidays that I decided to focus my search there.
After quite a bit of searching I started to like the look of Tenerife. It seemed to be a great place for a family to travel to together, with lots of activities that would entertain the whole family. I wasn’t too sure about the climate but I found a website which had loads of information about the weather in Tenerife and it seemed like it had a fantastic sunshine record.
I also checked out a Tenerife guide and it seemed like there would be loads of great stuff to do there. After a bit of hunting around I found what looked like a great package, which included flights transfers and accommodation in a four star hotel, which would actually be cheaper than our holiday last year! I booked the holiday there and then, slightly nervous about what my family would think.
I needn’t have worried. We have just spent the most perfect week in Tenerife, and all of us want to go back again!
